Week #86

Week 13 in La Pampa!

HOLA!

We had a good week!!! Lots of super cool people that we found this past week! It was a total of 18 people all of which have alot of potential!!! My comp and I have been trying this new thing for finding people. We first start of with a prayer, then we write down about 10 different street blocks in our sector and we then compare with each other and see if we have any that are the same. The ones that are the same, we go and knock every door on that block. We usually do this in the morning since its super slow and not a whole lot of people are in the streets and stuff. So one day we did this last week and after knocking about amost all the doors on two blocks we found this guy named Brayan. He´s super cool and should be getting baptized this month after he gets back from Bolivia!!!!

Other than that each day is quite fun. Elder Wheelwright is a super fun and we get along very well. This week should be quite interesting and hopefully we start to see more success the coming weeks! Take care!

Love,

Week # 85

Week 12 in La Pampa!!! Happy 4th of July!!!

Well, another week has come and gone. Last week was pretty good! Ends up that my district and I will be staying the same again for the next 6 weeks!!! Yep, my comp. and I will have another transfer together! We´re pretty excited about since we get along pretty well together and we both have been wanting to stay to see some people that we have get baptized this month!!!! We are expecting at least 5 baptisms for this month! I know its possible it just requires faith and obedience. Some of the hardest things to maintain but are the keys to success in missionary work! Something that this past week I´ve gained a stronger testimony of and desire to increase. I know the Lord is leading this work and that through faithful obedience to his commandments, he can work through me to proclaim the restored gospel of faith, repentance, and baptism to all people!! A humbling task that not many have the opportunity of doing. I´m grateful for this and  the support of everyone else!!! Hope you all have a great week and enjoy your BBQs!!!

Week #84

Week 11 in La Pampa!!!!

Hola!

This past week was a quick one! The week just flew and I dont have much to say for this week!!! Things are going good here!!!! We had a baptism in the district!!! A blessing really! What happened is that a inactive member returned back to the church and her church records didnt exist so she had to get re-baptized!!!!!! It was probably one of the shortest baptismal interviews I´ve given in my mission!!!! Everyone is pretty anxious and nervous around here since this friday we receive transfers! Its likely that this is the last week with Elder Wheelwright, 12 weeks together is usually the max for missionaries but we´ll see what happens!

We have a bunch investigators that I´m really excited for!!! We should be seeing there baptisms these following weeks, so hopefully I stay but if not, thats life!!!! I hope you all have a good week and enjoy the blessings of the Lord!!!

Week #83

Week 10 in Alto Hospicio!!!! Milagros Baby!!!!

Oh man, I dont know how to start this one off......

First off, I just have to express my gratitude to our Heavenly Father for his many blessings and mercies He pours out upon us. This week was one of those. I`m first gonna start out a small story with a lady named Margarita. Shes a sweet old lady of 56 that lives by herself. She suffers from diabetes and the loss of her left leg, but has an unquenchable faith in God! So we contacted this lady in the street the 9th of June. We returned back to her house on the 13 (last Tuesday) to teach her. And during this she told us that she had been praying to God for spiritual help and that that day ( the 9th) when we contacted her, it was an answer to her prayer. The next day she had her baptismal interview and decided to be baptized this Sunday (yesterday). After that we had different lessons with the Branch President and other members and yesterday she was baptized!!!!! It was a super cool experience to help this lady and see and experience the joy in her!!! We feel really blessed for these blessings and I know that there are more to come!!!!

Also in our district we had 3 other baptism of a family!!!! It was also a miracle that they got baptized but thats another story!!! It was cool since I got to baptize the wife and she was pregnant!!!! 2 at once!!!! But other than that things are going good here in Chile!!! The weather is great this time of the year, and not much to complain about! Hope you all have a great week!!!!

Week #82

Week 9 in La Pampa!!!

Whats up!!!!

This past week was genial!!! I had a couple exchanges!!! One I went out of town to a city named Pozo Amonte!! It was awesome!! I did some interviews for some people that will be baptized this week!!! Also I went with the zone leaders out to their sector. Cool story, as we were doing the exchange, the power went out in like half of Chile!! So all the missionaries were informed to go to a member or investigators house and chill til there was light again. So we went to this "eternal investigator" of the zone leaders. Him and his wife sell sushi so when we got there he had a ton of sushi ready to sell but he couldnt since there was no light! So I ended up eating 4 entire rolls of sushi!!!!! It was great!!!

Another cool story about this family we are teaching! So theres this lady named Sheri and her boyfriend Alexis. Sheri was baptized when she was 15 and from then hasnt retured to the church. So this past week we started teaching them and there family!!! Hopefully in these next two or three weeks we can get them married and after have the baptism of him and also the 3 kids of Sheri!!! We´ve been seeing alot of miricales and blessings theses past weeks and I know that we´ll see more! All you need is FAITH!!!! Have a good week!!!

Week #81

Week 8 in La Pampa!!!

Familia y Amigos!!!

This past week was quite a handful! We changed houses, and our new place is real nice!!!! Its too nice really, I´m scared to get it dirty! Other than that we had a great conference with the mission president! He made some challenges and promises to us that I´m really excited to do and see the blessings of the Lord! For this week that is coming up, we´re going forth trying to find alot more people to teach and also focus alot more on some of our investigators that we have right now that are at the point of being baptized!!!! Thank you for all your love and support! Con mucho amor,

"How does His Church accomplish the Lord’s purposes? It is important to recognize that God’s ultimate purpose is our progress. His desire is that we continue “from grace to grace, until [we receive] a fulness” of all He can give. That requires more than simply being nice or feeling spiritual. It requires faith in Jesus Christ, repentance, baptism of water and of the Spirit, and enduring in faith to the end."

Week #80

Week 7 in La Pampa!!!!

Buena!

Wow, this past week was quite a ride!!! Lots of stress and a lot of things that had to get done. But things got done! Saturday we had several challanges with our baptism but Lord made miricales and things got done!! We´re looking forward now for this week and whats ahead! Also lots of things for this week! We have to change houses, and also several meetings and interviews going on!!! Not much else! We had lots of ups and downs this past week but the work of the Lord keeps going forward! Hope you all have a good week!!

"Patience in affliction and suffering describes the life of Christ, the great exemplar. In moments of great suffering and pain which transpired in Gethsemane, He was able to express in fervent prayer, “O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt” (Matt. 26:39), giving us the example and a frame of reference for a life of obedience and perseverance, despite circumstances or external conditions in which we could find ourselves."

Week #79

Week 6 in La Pampa!!!!!

Hey hey!!!

How ya´ll doing? Things are going good here in Chile!! The nights are getting colder which is real good since the heat is just miserable. Last week went very well!!! Elder Wheelwright and I will be staying together for the next 6 weeks which should be fun!!!! Also in our district no one changed which is nice since we got a nice group of guys here! This past week was wonderful since we had 4 investigators in church!! Its real hard here in la pampa since the church is pretty far from the sector, and its hard to motivate people to take there time to go across town but we´re getting things done with the branches help!!!!

This week we will have the baptism of Ricardo!!!! He´s a super cool guy from Bolivia that's been listening to us for the past while. We´re really excited for him and his decision! Also in the district we should have 4 other baptisms!!!!!! Its gonna be a real fun weekend and everyone is excited!!!!! We´ve been seeing alot of blessing being poured out here the past few weeks and I can really see that things are done in the Lords timing according to His will. I know he lives and that this is his work. Hope you all have a good week!!!

P.S.. My comp taught me how to juggle saturday and I wanted to send a video of me juggling but I didnt have enough time to download it, next week!

Week#78

Hey!

Well its been a good past week! Pretty hectic! The beginning was pretty normal but Thursday thru saturday was nuts! We left Thursday night at 1 in the morning to take a bus, we got to Antofagasta at 8 and from then on we spent our day there. We had a wonderful conference by Elder Texeira of the Seventy! He had a wonderful presentation on the Book Of Mormon and how and why would should use it more in our mission! It was really great and I really felt it was something inspired for us and the people we find and meet here in our mission! After that we caught a bus at 8.30 at night and we got back here to Alto Hospicio at 4 in the morning! A super long day! Later on in the week, yesterday night we had our skypes! It was wonderful seeing the family again for the last time til I get home! ;)

Before I finish this up, I really want to share my testimony of the power of consistent scripture reading and praying. Something that I know is hard but is the best thing we can do everyday. The spiritual power that we need as spirit children of God is there in these two things. Doing this as a missionary has been a critical act for me. Its allowed me to resist temptation, receive personal revelation and know Gods will for me. I encourage you all to strive to have constant scripture study and prayer! I hope you all have a good week! Week 4 in La Pampa!

Hey!

Well we had a good week here! Things are going good in La Pampa! Always lots of work to do! We had a baptism in the district!!! I had the opportunity to do the interview of him and it was awesome!!! So cool to see the repentance in this man and his disposition to follow the Savior and his commandments!!!! One of my favorite things as a leader is doing the interviews for people. Hearing their testimonies or being able to strenghten it is always such a great blessing. Well this week will be fun, since we have a huge conference with half the mission. We´ll be hearing from Elder Texeira and Elder Christensen from the seventy!! Its going to be a great opportunity and Ï´m pretty excited!!! Love ya´ll and hope you have a good week!!!

Week 3 in La Pampa!!!!

Well, we had a good week!!! Tons of success going on here in Alto Hospicio!!! My companion is a stud!!! Each day is just a blast out here talking to people and inviting them to come unto Christ!!! Dont get me wrong, some days are not the same but its a feeling like no other right now. Also this past week we had the baptism of Ian. It was really good and a nice experience!!!! I´d love to write more and share more about the past week but the time doesnt permit but love you all and wish you a happy week!!!!

Week #75

Week 2 in La Pampa!!!

Buenas Tardes!

Well we just had a great week!!! Tons of success going on here in La Pampa!! Es la Tierra Prometida!!!!!! Really though, we have seen many, many blessings and miracles this past week! Just finding people that have truly been prepared by the Lord to receive His gospel! Also this past week we had the baptism of Angel!!!! It was amazing!!! A little unorthodox since me and my companion had to carry him in and hold him while the member did the ordinances but a grand experience!!! As we arrived to the church he was in tears which just brought peace to my heart knowing that this is the Lords work and that he truley works in these people through us.

Really these past weeks I feel like have received a lot of strength from God. Things are still difficult, opposition still comes but through small daily prayers I´ve found great strength and reliance with God. I know that this is His work and what I do is not mine, all that really is mine is the decision to listen to His directions and keep myself worthy of His spirit. This upcoming week should be fun, we have alot more baptisms coming up and people to help receive their salvation. Hope you all have a good week! Con mucho cariño,
